I made a pledge to myself — now 7 years ago — to remember. Each year I want to reflect on what MY FAMILY and MINISTRY and CHURCH and FRIENDS went through. This year I will watch a news documentary that is primarily video of that terrible day.
I will never forget many of the feelings I had. One person came into my office and said that it looked like it could be over 20,000 deaths. Thank God for those brave people that frantically rescued and enabled the rescue of so many. And a few times a year I still pray for the broken and hurting families that went through that tragedy. So may will get ?stuck? in time for the rest of their changed lives because of the trauma.
What do YOU remember? What happened in YOUR world back in 2001?
A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. – Proverbs 11:25 (NIV)
This encouraging Proverb says a lot. WHENEVER I do this it seems that it does something deep inside. We are all created in God’s image. The author of love is not a bad blueprint, if you ask me. Go ahead, try it. Then leave a comment and let us all know how it went.
My Grandma Ruth is hilarious. She’s 91 and aging, that’s for sure… but I could listen to her for a long time. She had Ginger really laughing by saying such random stuff.
Saturday we arrived just fine, drove from Chicago to Rockford. We had lunch with my brother, Steve, and one of his three sons, Michael, who is in 7th grade. Steve was driving through town and we’ll see him again on his return trip on Monday.
Right now is Sunday morning and in a couple of hours Ginger and I will be ministering at my mom’s church. Pray for us (if you read this in time) that the Lord will allow his servants to be instruments of His choosing.
